Obie Trice- Cheers: Signed to the Shady Record label Obie Trice obviously has a upper hand on publicity thanks to Eminem the owner. Although de-beut single "Got Some Teeth" is a bit commercial it is also humourous showing Obie's less serious view on life as no doubt this album potrays. With production from musical masterminds such as Timbaland, Dr. Dre and of course Eminem Obie's lyrical content is further more elevated. Gems in this album include Bad Bit*h, Sh*t Hits The Fan, The Set Up and Look In My Eyes. This is a fantastic album, a breath of fresh air in a slow repetitive industry, time will tell whether it will live up to the hype Eminem creates unintentionally. 9 OUT OF 10

Onyx- Triggernometry: Why do they insist on rapping over the corniest possible beats? This was the major flaw of the last Sticky Finagaz album, the beats are thin, keyboard presets that all sound similar. They need to trade their Casio keyboards for drum breaks and jazz samples. And entirely too many skits for one album. The lyrics are cool and all the mcs come correct, but Onyx needs to work on getting some better beats on their next album. 5 OUT OF 10
Inspectah Deck- Movement: Even though Inspectah Deck might not have as high a profile as Wu-Tang compatriots like ODB or Method Man, he's no less talented. His first solo album, UNCONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, was bursting with the kind of hardcore, street-level hip-hop that had become so dead to Wu-Tang fans. Apparently he was pretty busy with group projects after that, since it took four years for this follow-up to appear. Deck gets to the point right away, as THE MOVEMENT's intro finds him declaring "gone are the days of that commercial hip-hop." The sound he offers up as an alternative to hip-pop fluff is full of evocative, occasionally almost dub-like loops, and uncompromising rhymes that ooze street-cred without getting too caught up in hollow thug-life bravado. There's a dark lyrical tinge to THE MOVEMENT, but the pure visceral energy of Deck's style generates enough energy to keep depression at bay. 8 OUT OF 10

Mobb Deep- Free Agents The Murda Mixtape: Mobb's recent releases have been pretty lack luster and dissapointing but this album sees them back on track. Feeling a lot of the stuff but the lyrics aren't really saying that much, just the typical stuff u'd expect from Prodigy and Havoc. Prodigy comes correct for a change and Havoc comes with the banging production. Can't wait 4 the next joint. 8.5 OUT OF 10
