Roscoe- Young Roscoe Philaphornia: To those who don't bother to take his individual talents into account, Roscoe is known as the little brother of Dogg Pound member Kurupt. That's not to say that the G-funk beats of Kurupt's crew have had no influence on PHILAPHORNIA. Older bro is in fact involved with the production, but ultimately Roscoe comes across as being very much his own man. His Cali-via-Philly background puts him in a bit of an unusual situation, giving him both emotional and physical access to the best of both East Coast and West Coast production sensibilities and rhyming approaches. The sound of PHILAPHORNIA is plenty pop savvy, with lots of accessible, infectious touches, but Roscoe's delivery is street-real enough to keep the hardcore heads intrigued throughout.

Kurupt- Against The Grain (underground version): Take a minute to put aside all the constant label hopping status/infighting amongst the D.P.G.'s (a.k.a. "The Row/D.P.G. beef" and you will find that no matter where Kurupt roams he always brings natural talent wit him. Of course these tracks were done when Daz and Kurupt where together but the album speaks for itself. For you "social rap fans" who don't see it stocke to the brim in all the stores like you might see Dre- buy it anyway. The recycled tracks Daz included from his other albums are the tighter ones, most likely not known to the masses of original Dogg Pound fans. And the new ones do "hold their own" to quote a prev review. Like NAS's "The Lost Tapes", Kurupt's Against the grain is like a appetizer of what should be more to come. It's that album you can listen from start to finish. But what Gottstra album wasn't?? With Daz and Kurupt as a team they have shown their growth in talent, range, and ability to pull off all kinds of ideas on the mic. This album has some of everything. And you don't want to miss the Makaveli cut at the end, "Don't go to Sleep" Nuff said. Despite his disappointing lack of loyalty to D.P.G., his skills shall never fade. Support Kurupt, and Daz(genius) especially who owns this and all remaining Kurupt material off of Antra just short of his rejoining "tha Row".

Bad Azz- Money Run: He's Back! Mr.Bad Azz comes with heat over this highly anticpated independnt release. Teaming up with one of the hardest producers on the West Coast, Big Hollis to deliver ear pounding music. If you love the new 50 cent you have to pick this up it is off the hook. The track "It's A Party" with LaToya Williams and Soopafly is very tight and the title track are definite bangers for your system. You better get on the Money Run before its to late and you get left behind. And don't think that this is the only Bad Azz release that is coming out this year. He is working on a new release for D3 Entertainment that will have Tha Liks, DPGC and many more!
