AZ- Aziatic: The Brooklyn MC who turned heads way back when as a guest on Nas's ILLMATIC had already put plenty of sonic miles behind him before the release of AZIATIC. No matter how much he's established himself as a rapper extraordinaire, though, his skills never come off as old hat. On AZIATIC his mixture of street imagery and higher-minded philosophy, the carnal and the sublime, the hardcore hip-hop beat and the attractive pop/R&B ornamentation, all come together and ring true. Less conceptual than 9 LIVES but packing more surprising melodic hooks than PIECES OF A MAN, AZIATIC strikes a good balance of the varied facets that make up Az's vision. Consequently, this album would make a good starting point for anyone unfamiliar with the work of this uncompromising but accessible artist. His best album yet. He's more focused, and ready to receive his due as one of his generation's true voices....This is AZ at full power.

El-P- Fantastic Damage: Man this cd gets a dope rating nothing stays the same no matter what youre listening to the beat will change or the rhyme flow every beat is tight this is a must have for anyone who likes underground rap or def jux the aesop rock track is my fav next one is the one featuring vast aire from cannibal ox By the way DEF JUX is to cold got the best rappers. Amplifies the dystopian side of his former group, Company Flow, with dense, short-circuited beatscapes and raps that are rabid, literate, oblique, paranoid, political, sentimental, and as relentless as prime Public Enemy.

Journalist- Scribes Of Life: Many of you will remember Journalist from his stellar guest appearances on Canibus' albums. His sick flow and wordplay earned him a record deal and Scribes of Life is his debut. It picks up where his tight guest appearancesleft off, slamming jagged boom beats into sick rhymes like the score for a 'Blade Runner' sequel. Journalist's rhyme style requires some real attention, but you'll be glad you dug in. Guests include M.O.P., Backbone, and Sleepy Brown.
