Dice Raw- Reclaiming The Dead: Astute heads will remember Dice Raw as the pugnacious wunderkind MC who debuted wrecking the mic on The Roots' beatbox-propelled "The Lesson Part 1," from 1994's Do You Want More?!!!??!. After appearing on all of the Illadelph crew's subsequent releases, Reclaiming the Dead is the manifestation of Dice Raw's purist ethos. An attempt to "bring it back to old-school rap," as the single "Thin Line (Between Raw & Jiggy)" forcefully expresses, Reclaiming the Dead proves an uneven ride. The beats, which oscillate between often tiresome roughneck territory ("Go Dice Raw") and the markedly better melodic dabblings of longtime Roots collaborator Scott Storch ("Forget What They Say") unfortunately fail to rouse significant innovation in Dice Raw's delivery. While his energy on the mic is unquestionable and occasionally triumphs ("Lockdown"), Dice Raw's technique, to his detriment, rarely changes up. While Raw gains kudos for his desire to show reverence for microphone fiends of the past, his own chops, on this showing, barely escape the mediocrity he so obviously abhors.

Frost- Still Up In This Shit: On of the original OG in this west coast rap game, Frost continues to drop dope albums. And the production seems to get better and better with each album. This album is straight fire! Really, after listening to the album, there's only maybe 2-3 songs that seem to be filler. The rest is legit, Frost at his best. The song with Tierra is for real old-school. Battlecat does a real tight song, Daz zong is tight, first song is tight with the mariachi-style song. There's even a bonus rock song on here that if heard by mainstream...It's a definite HIT!!! And the bonus cut "Cannibas is fire as well. Get this album!

MC Eiht- Underground Hero: Man Eiht still keeps it banging been in da game 12 years and have'nt fell off yet, a true veteran and every beat makes you wanna throw ya hood up. This album is a str8 banger front to back, with hits left and right. The best song is probably "Never Take It Easy", with its tight bass line and Eiht sounding like a new jack. Other bangers include: "Get Yours" featuring Mack 10, "Uh Huh", "Keep It Movin", "The Rah Rah Nigga" featuring Eiht's east coast buddy Sticky Fingaz, and "Bang". Another heater from the underground hero, MC Eiht.

Big Syke- Street Commando: I'd give this album 5 out of 10. It's not right to come back with this average album after the bomb ass album from last year. Still, if you haven't heard Syke's debut LP than you definitely should check this one out. Syke has a great voice, but the beats on this album are very weak compared to the last one.
