| June 4, 2004-second time writing this entry/computer annoyance. heading to snow mass, co for suzuki teacher training, another tummy churner. i do get tired of being nervous/anxious, tho i would probably be more unhappy if i were not excited. then student teaching at century, another chance to be nervous, not so much excited. when will my training/education be over? never. also training in the cash office at TJ Maxx. nerve wracking! too many steps to come to totals. April 27, 2004-Lots of changes for me. No more school. The Suzuki School board is meeting with me next week, quite nervous about this. More hours at TJ Maxx. More $, more stress. Also Jillian is leaving in June, so I will have to plan ahead to be able to afford living alone. Still don't know where I am student teaching. Apr 17, 2004-Just put some piano recital pictures up on the site. Still don't know where I will be student teaching, grrr. Have lost 2 students to summer vacation, but acquired Nick's 3 little cousins, and hopefully soon, Grandma. Graduation is right around the corner, as well as a big woodwind concert. Feb 20, 2004-By now I've performed all my pieces except for Golliwog's Cakewalk, and that will surely occur at the next Perform Lab. Played Glaznouv Saxophone Concerto with Rhonda Gowen at the last woodwind lab, as well as doing many accompaniments. Finished with my electronic portfolio for student teaching, as well as my senior testing (the math questions seemed EASY...how can this be?) The news about where I will student teach will come on March 10, or thereabouts. So many things are wrapping up. My dress rehearsal and jury dates have been set, the dress rehearsal is march 22 at 6pm, anyone is welcome to come. Marylee says the more the merrier, a minimum of 5 people is required, to get me nervous. My dress and flat shoes are ready to go... Nov 24, 2003-Approaching Thanksgiving, and over halfway done with this semester! Marylee and I are starting to get things polished up for my recital on March 28...we have a ways to go yet, though. Aug 5, 2003-Yes! The cd is ready to be released. Nick and I are very busy mixing down all the songs and printing out booklets. Not everything is perfect, for sure...but I am certainly ready to move on from this project. Nick is already busy coming up with stuff for me to work on next. Aug 3, 2003-Lots has happened this summer...and tomorrow should be the last, or at least second to last day of recording for my Tori Tribute cds. I'm recording Flying Dutchman, and hope to get it just right. In the past couple weeks I have acquired four new students, two whom I've had lessons with and two who have not started yet. There is pressure to figure out my schedule so that at work (TJ Maxx) they know when I'm available and so that I can schedule students . This next weekend we travel to Minneapolis to witness Tori and Ben Folds on their Lottapianos tour. May 16, 2003-School is over! I am still waiting on a job, so I'll either be at TJ Maxx or the Kelly Inn. Still have 3 students to keep me entertained.. My new roommate, Jillian McGuire has moved in. Tori's show was awesome at Grand Forks and now I am planning to see her and Ben Folds' tour in August. She'll be returning to Minneapolis. Mar 7, 2003-Well, Spring Break came and went, kept myself very busy catching up on all kinds of things. Even wrote one song. Am planning a trip to Grand Forks on April 1 to see Tori Amos again, this time Casey is coming along. My junior recital is over, and the musical is quickly coming up. Nick is now in Finest Line Divides, and as a band they've been very successful, playing all kinds of shows, and acquiring a real fan base. Just added in lots of family pictures from Rose and Buck's wedding and Christmas. Dec 11. 2002-Wow how time flies. Just stopped in to make some modifications to the site. The cds been done for a good week now and is even in some peoples hands. Exciting! I've begun writing "Dream State" which should be on my next cd Metamorphosis. Yea, recording is kinda a pain in the butt, especially when one's neighbor reports them for playing too late at night ..10pm is late these days? When else am I supposed to record, hahaha! Oh my, the Tori Amos concert was so awesome. I have a picture of myself with my good friend Jillian and her sister that I'll have to post, we are dressed up in a "scarlets walk" fashion, ready to head for the concert. We were able to stay with Nick's gracious aunt Kathy in the big city. There is so much to say about my 6 little music students, but there is time for that. Aug 29, 2002-My it feels good to not have to work today, I went in but they actually didn't need me! School is going well. Hopefully it stays that way. Just making some modifications to the site and preparing to send it out to folks. Aug 23, 2002-I feel musically focused today...finally a day off from the deli. Been practicing the saxophone, and Nick and I headed up to BSC but there was a meeting being held in the band room, so no chance to record a cover of Winter, or Butterfly, or even Happy Medium. I'm beginning to consider recording some of the songs on keyboard, using interesting midi sounds. That way there is no hassle trying to get into the band room, and there will be some unique sounds other than piano. Aug 18, 2002-Today I tried to record some vocals ... but found that with my recordings I had not left much room for phrasing. I had not left room for much breathing between my vocal lines. Nick and I are considering rerecording everything, recording piano and vocals, everything all at once. A mighty chore. I also wrote the chorus for Alone is Empty after much hemming and hawwing...what century did I just step back into! Found out my sister Tracie is to stay with me this coming week, she's been hired at KXMB as weekend anchor, very exciting. Aug 12, 2002-Just put all the lyrics to my songs in. What a task! Since I worked at 6am, and awoke at 5am, this means I'm on my 17th hour, I think. This site is really coming together... Aug 11, 2002-Well, I finally get a day off of work again and I've decided to begin creating a website that will allow people to read my song lyrics. Sure, many of these songs haven't been composed yet, this is definitely no "finished product". I want to get more creative here, but time is of the essence. Soon college will start again and my Ill Tempered Glass project may very well end up on the back burner...but once I actually have a cd created (Nick and I have a few songs recorded) this site will be handy to those who receive the cd. I know the type of cd I would like to create..its just a matter of learning how to create it. I'm new to the songwriter role...and definitely new to recording my musical notions, so this will be interesting. |
