| Born and raised in Baltimore ,ILL-Demon has lived just inside and outside of the city limits all over Maryland.As a child he grew up hearing the words of Easy-E , N.W.A. , X-Clan , Black Moon , The Beatnuts ,Mobb Deep,Helta Skelta,Cella Dwellas,Diggable Plants,Cypress,C-n-N and Gravediggaz just to name a few.He highly respects and relates to alot of what you might hear from the MOBB,especially the medical aspects of serious illness (disease) of which Prodegy speaks of in "You could never feel my pain".Mostly a loner his whole life rollin' solo whether it was hustlin' and/or as a musician.He was given a second,third and finally a forth chance in life to make a change after his son Bobby,who was named after Demon's late father,was born.ILL-Demon,born Samuel M. Buffington Jr.,began to move those around him with the unique quick-witted approach that he has as an MC since an early age.Well respected for his "Don't give a fuck" attitude,he began to bring those closest to him into the studio to rhyme instead of the pen. doin' time.More than just an MC,he is an acceptional artist,designer and has become even more independent than ever before.Samuel started writing,makin' beats,and recording his tracks in a 10'x10' room in his house which was turned into a well crafted "basement studio"."No matter what people would tell me,good or bad,I always kept my head upregardless.I always thought that the more shit i tread through only makes my legs grow stronger you know?I never needed anyone but me,never depended on anyone other than me,and when it's my time to shine,it's gonna be because of me".Nothin's gonna keep this cat from his dreams but when and if something does....I feel bad for him or her but hopefully his "don't give a fuck" attitude will serve him correct and allow him to further explore the unique inner capabilities he displays.From a fast paced "rewind that again" track to something a little more drunk off the yak,it's easy to see that his versitile skills make him an "all around MC".One of the best articulated and contraversial songs recorded by ILL-D so far is off of "Tha Pro-pain CD" called "Tha life story" and it touches on a number of issues he has dealt with including the hustle,the law,the beef,and misconception of outsiders who have prejudged him."It's hard for people who never knew me to see just where i'm comin' from.I decided to drop the crime script and go legit to benefit me,my lil' man,and peoples I grew up with.I'm just tryin' to spread the ILL-Demon gospal in any way I can to let cats out there who think that there is no hope that there really is alot of opportunities outside of this everyday lifestyle that many feel as though we are trapped in." |
