| Non-Player Races Immortal Races Fairies A race born purely of magic, fairies appear to be Elves though with insectile wings ranging from those like dragon fly to butterfly. They are, however, miniature, the tallest standing a foot tall and weighing not even a pound. Despite being so small, though, they have massive magical potential. Some of the most powerful magical artefacts have been forged by Fae magics. They are purely immortal and grow to the age of mature, then continue to live forever. They have a lifestyle of living in total harmony with magic and nature. Led by Maeve, the first fairy, they live peacefully, hidden away from mortal societies where few know how to find them. And even then, they are not found unless they want to be found. Most fairies have not travelled from their Glade and thus are very curious of the mortal races when they do; they will often track travellers throughout their wood for long periods of time, attempting to glean whatever they can of the curious beings. When threatened, fairies are quick to loose their destructive energies upon the aggressing foes without hesitation. Otherwise, they are a dormant, peace-loving race. Fairies themselves do not have a spoken language when amongst their own kind. Instead they speak through their minds, though it is a process so intricate that no psion can cipher it. The written language is very �flowy� and ribbon-like in appearance, but again, difficult to understand in any other language as there are no direct translations existing. The hearts of fairies, like all beings, beat two ways: dark and light. Those with light hearts often follow Solaris, his daughter, and even Martok, aiding who they may with the light side of the Fae. The other side is the Dark Fae, controlled by dark-hearted fairies that are often mischievous, and sometimes even quite cruel, though never ultimately evil, and thus follow Damien, or in extreme cases Dorian Dev�rim. As would be assumed, most fairies are magicians and priests, though their home is defended by very worthy arcane blades. |
