I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer
Director Sylvain White with special guest Chris White (Last Stop)

BD: So how did you get your start with film?

SW: I basically started shooting small experimental projects while in college, and interned at a production company.

BD: Would you ever go back to music videos?

SW: Always. They are a great way to experiment with visuals and editing.

BD: How was it working on IKNOW 3 knowing it was part of a very successful franchise?

SW: I had a great time. The success of the other films was simply something to strive on. The process was very fast but effective.

BD: How did you land the job?

SW: Simply got a good referral followed by a few good pitch meetings.

BD: Are there any really good gore scenes on the film?

SW: Absolutely. But we'll see how much of it makes it to the final cut if it's PG-13 versus R.

BD: Are a lot of the FX practical or CG?

SW: Practical.

BD: Do you see yourself doing any more horror films in the future?

SW: Ive always LOVED horror films. Constantly looking for screenplays and developing ideas in that genre.

BD: Who would you like to work with in the future?

SW: In terms of actors: Johnny Depp.

BD: QUIET, the award winning short film which Sylvain directed and you wrote, how was that collaborating together (watch it here)?

CW: It was great of course, who better to collaborate with on a film project then family and number one cousin. The cool thing is were on the same wavelength when it comes to tone, story and feel so everything just clicks perfectly.

BD: What's the latest on LAST STOP? The buzz behind the short film (watch it here) and script on the net is uncanny -- How has the reaction been in the industry?

CW: The reaction has been good especially after I shot a five-minute demo clip of the opening five pages to go with the script. It also didnt hurt to get some great input from a co-producer of one of the biggest horror movie franchises which has made the script that much tighter. Its being looked at now by some very nice prospects.

BD: What other projects do you guys have in the pipeline? Or what are you working on now?

CW: I have a project called ICED, which I adapted from a critically acclaimed book by the same name. Lee Daniels the Oscar winning producer of Monsters Ball hired me to write the script on spec. He later came in and put a nice polish on areas. Its slated for production in 2007 and just attached Lenny Kravits as the lead, Lee is also directing. It's going to make Requiem For A Dream feel like a Dave Chappelle comedy skit. Its that dark, man it's dark but really powerful stuff a truly gut wrenching story about a drug addict.

SW: I'm putting together a slate of five films to produce and direct (two of the five), for the next three years. Actively looking for and developing material. Would love to bring some of Chris' genius screenplays to life, plus we have a secret project still in the infancy stage. I can't wait to gut that kid and splatter it on the screen. It's a truly shocking concept.

CW: I'm also working on a cool ass werewolf script called SECOND SKIN, I'm about to put a second pass on it. It all takes place in one night at this psych ward during a blizzard, it has non-stop action, very violent with a very cool new breed of werewolf never done before.

BD: So besides QUIET, when should we expect to see you guys working together on another project?

CW: Hopefully soon, there's a horror project we've been toying with that has been in it's infancy stage. Once we have some time we'll sit down and start working out the details and really crank out a script. It's a killer concept that's sure to shake up a lot of people.
