Only those who fight live.

Plava is located in southern part of so called Montenegro, on the boarder of Albania at latitude of 42.5969 , and longitude of 19.9456. Plavas population is near 8000 inhabitants from whom 65% are indigenous Albanians. Plava and Guxija are very close, and they are divided by small rivers of Vruja, Grlja, Ljuca, Grnchar and other rivers that end their journey to the lake of Plava. The Plava lake continues into a  new journey with the river Limi
This whole region is an exceptional hunting ground. For centuries, people of Plava used to cut tries, curve the tries,  hunt, and make their living. The climate of this region is cold, and the snow can be seen during the month of August. This region is rich in water fountains, brooks, and small rivers. All the rivers and the lake Plava is rich on fish. The lake Plava is wide 2160 m. and 1450 m. large.  The maximum depth of the lake is 10 meters.
The town of Plava is a typical Albanian town dating since ancient time. Most of the times in the ancient written books, Albanians appear living in mountainous regions. The name Plava is derived from Albanian words Po lava meaning washing or I am taking a bath.  The lake is believed to be created 25 000 years ego. The water of the lake is cold, and it is believed that the temperature of the ground floor of the lake during the summer is just little above zero degree Celsius. the names of the rivers also derive from Albanian words, for example, Vruja- meaning something boiling, or Lima, meaning the green floor of the river. During the ancient time, the town was used as a meeting place and place of the trade, where the mountainous people traded their values for other values that they were on need of those values.
Even thought the town and surrounding are very attractive, the fascist government of Yugoslavia and Republic of Montenegro have not invested to make possible for the people of Plava to make their living. Therefore, many of people had to leave their homes and go to other places as far as New York, USA, Germany, and other places. The largest community of Plava is located in New York City, USA. It is believed that the town of Plava used to have more than 30 000 inhabitants. Most of the Albanians in the region of Plava were of Roman Catholic religion believers. During the ottoman Turkey ruling in Balkans, many Albanians converted to the Islam. The religion was accepted peacefully.  After the fight for the liberation of Albania, many people of Plava died for the freedom of Albania. Unfortunately, the Russian Terrorists with their Russian Gypsies known as Serbs committed atrocities over the civilian Albanian population. The force of 300 000 Russian Terrorist, tried to ethnically clean the area. Many Albanians of Roman Catholic Religion were forced to convert themselves to the Christian orthodox. Those one who resisted were massacred, and the Russian terrorists in order to make sure that the Albanian Catholic were converted to Orthodox Christians were mutilated. The two hand fingers were cut off, so they can cross themselves only with three fingers as the orthodox Christian do.
The Albanian Muslims found a compromise with the Slavic Terrorists. They promised to the Russian Terrorists that are going to change their language to Slav one. The Russian Terrorists found a good gesture and today in Plava live Albanians who do not speak Albanian language, but the Slavic one, and they call themselves as a Boshnjaks. Many of Albanians whose fingers were cut off, remained as a Catholic, but a group of them they converted themselves to the orthodox Christians and to the Russian Gypsies known as a Serbs.
The population of Plava remains low, and there are still no serious investment by the fascistic government of so called Republic of Montenegro that causes many Albanians and Boshnjaks to leave the area and find their future in the western world. During the war, the Montenegro goernment has allowed some refugees to croos to Montenegro. Nevertheless, there were shootings and Albanians were murdered. The modern government of independent Montenegro has charged the individuals of Serbian and Montenegro origin who have commited the attrocities. The Republic of Montenegro is independent and peace is emminent. The crime in Plava does not exist

Plava is an attractive destination for hikers and mountain lovers. It is a paradise in the middle of mountains. It is worth to visit. The experience of the clean air and refraishing flower scents will remain in your heart for ever. So, it is time to come to Plava. Albanians, Boshnjaks, and Montenegrin with open hands and arms welcome you to Plava.
