                                                                        Preface

This article is dedicated in remembrance to Dr. Astridhis Kolia, an Arvanitis or Albanian, of Epirus, who got mysteriously murdered by the Greek secret Police. When Dr. Astridhis Kolia openly declared himself as an Albanian, he was murdered by Greek government. The information in this article is personal view or opinion and not e literary critic of two books: Ali Pash Tepelena written by Sabri Godo, and The lion of Janina written by William Plomer. We note that the details of the wars are not included. It is very hard to embrace an article from two books which contain more than three hundred pages each. We try in the short form to expose true and confirmed information. Some of the information is taken and stated as they appear in the books of two writers. Maybe you will find that the information may contradict each other, and may take a negative direction. Nevertheless, the reader while reading this article will get enriched with new information about Albanian prince of that time, Ali Pasha.

The article is only on the character of Ali Pasha and his surroundings, and in the realistic way describes the image and the life of the lion of Janina. It is not a fiction neither an imaginary statement, but it is true and real history.  The opinion or view is built on story telling and other books written on and about Ali Pasha and his family. The life and the legacy of Ali Pasha are being written in the books of histories in the schools in Albania, Kosovo, Greece, Turkey, and other countries. The story of Ali Pasha, the Lion of Epir, was told from generation to generation. Albanians have always proudly mentioned his name. The name Ali Pasha was and will be among the most eminent name in the entire Ottoman Turkey Empire. So, enjoy the true story on the lion of Epir, Ali Pasha.
