Good Deeds
A friend of mine recently broke his leg in six different places when he tripped over one of those snowmobiles with the stretchers on it while he was snowboarding.  I decided it would be nice to go chill with him for a day and bring him some take out from Outback Steakhouse.  We had as good of time as possible, given the situation, but it was backing out of his driveway my car gets stuck in the snow.  So as im shifting from forward to reverse again and again, destroying whats left of my clutch, one of my friends neighbors comes out to help.  we'll call him doug.  we eventually get the car free from the snow, but by the time we were through we were both covered in mud.  not being properly dressed to play outside, i was freezing.  i wanted to go home and take a nice shower.  now to get from point A to point B in a timely manner, it is much better to be going fast than slow. thats basic physics.  therefore, i was not paying attention to the white and black signs that are meant to govern my speed.  now there are other forces that help govern my speed, and i was promptly introduced to one of them...also black and white.  now this police officer was a very nice man that i happened to know through a guy that knows a guy etc.  he was nice enough to let me off with a warning.  he was later fired for not meeting his quota.  now being soaked to the bone in mud and ice, and being pulled over, i was awfully cold.  by the time i got home i was coughing and had a very runny nose.  i got in very late and was not able to complete my homework.  a friend from school helped me finish it at lunch.  i figure the ones i didnt fill out were technically wrong answers, so it would be wise to check my answers.  it wasnt as wise as i thought, because my friend and i had our homework papers thrown in the garbage before we even turned them in.  being in close proximity with someone with some kind of raging mutant virus is usually not a good idea no matter what your trying to do.  my friend also caught a the cold, and was stuck in bed for the next few days.  he had a few obligations that he missed out on, such as getting the notes from the lecture in science class for his girlfriend who was visiting her sick grandmother.  his girlfriend got home a few days before the test, so any requests to try to delay the test were ignored.  she failed the test and was grounded for a month, which means no action for my previously sick friend.  now he is feeling very bad and semi-responsible for her failing the test so he sends her flowers.  nice flowers.  expensive flowers.  flowers payed for by check.  with money he apparently does not have.  his check bounces, and hes out of money for the next few days, and short on cash the next two weeks.  being short on cash, it is really hard for him to buy gas.  on the way work, covering for his friend, he runs out of gas.  his friend failed to tell his employer that someone would be filling in for him and was quickly fired.  being out of a job myself, i tell him we can both search for a new one.  already having staked out the best job locations, i thought we would be working in no time.  the key word being we.  i was wrong. WE did not find work.  WE invlolves me.  I did not get a job.  he was picked because of his previous work history and ability to pass drug tests.  not to say hes not into partying a little now and again, but my friend with the broken leg isn't.  and so, as demonstrated, the cycle continues.  the whole mess could have been avoided if that snowmobile had not been trying to help that person.  good deeds suck..
