She was a young girl, but the fire burned deep within her soul. The object of her affection loved her very much, but somehow things didn’t quite turn out how she expected them to. She thought if she found love she would find happiness but things were not so. Her heart broke a little bit more each day. She tried to be strong and fight for all the things she cared about, but she always felt like if she were slipping away. Slipping away from everything she used to know. She felt him slowly glide away with every tear she shed. How could her life be so broken into pieces when she tried so hard to keep it together? I guess the pieces weren’t meant to fit after all; but they felt so right, her feelings were so strong; how could they not? Something was keeping them apart; something was always in between them. Yet he always found the right thing to say, exactly what she needed to hear in order to not let go.
It would have been easier to let go, but she couldn’t stand the idea of someone else touching the man she loved. She wasn’t ready to give up on the one thing she cared about most. On the one thing that made her want to dream and live. He kept her alive all this time; he taught her so many things. One of those things was how to love, but he never taught her how to let go. He chose to leave though, just leave her waiting for him miserably while he stepped into the world alone. She knew this was something he has to do, and tried to be supportive as her shattered heart bled. She was then left behind waiting for time to pass, always dreaming of a time and place they could be together.
