| "Mi Vida....Mi Historia" I was born on July 20th, 1982 in Monterrrey, Mexico. I never lived in Monterrey but I did spend some of my childhood years in a close by city about two hours away called Cerralvo Nuevo Leon.I live with both my parents. I have one younger sister of age 19 who currently lives and studies in Austin. She attends the University of Texas. My family was a migrant family that worked as fruit pickers in the late 70's early 80's in Bakersfield, California. As a baby I was always traveling. My parents had to keep moving from state to state to be able to acquire jobs that would help to provide and sustain our family. I was raised in California my first few years, later in Chicago, Illinois, in my parents hometown Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon and finally in Houston, Texas where I have lived for the past 20 years. I went to pre-kindergarten in my parents home town, Cerralvo Nuevo Leon for a year. In Houston, I attended Pyburn Elementary, Woodland Acres Middle School and I received my highschool diploma from Galena Park High School. I attended the University of Houston from Fall 2000 - Spring 2006. I graduated in the Spring of 2006 with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering. |

| While in primary school years, I would always be the fastest girl in PE and the most creative, winning several Houston Livestock and Rodeo drawing contests. In my secondary school years, my concentration was in pre-AP math and science courses which helped prepare me for highschool. While in highschool I was a person that got along with everyone never popular but was always able to mingle between "the nerds" and "the cool people" as highschool students would refer to as that. I was very involved in extra-curricular activities such as spanish, french, and art club, national honor society, and the cross country team. I was never the fastest but I sure would finish my 2 to 3 mile race in every competition. I am currently a recent grad from the University of Houston Cullen College of Engineering. I plan to pursue a career in the oil and gas industry. I have goals to continue my education in the Fall of 2007 in a dual masters degree J.D / MBA from the University of Houston Business and Law College. One of most recent and significant accomplishments has been to earn and receive such a prestigious degree. I know that my degree and further education will help me accomplish the goals and dreams I set in mind for my family and myself. My past has helped me into becoming the person I am today. Currently, my wants, needs, and "shoulds" are all interwined with the need to help others, especially the hispanics and latino community. I have most of what I need. Some of those things are love, a home, faith, trust from family and friends, my intelligence and personality. In the future the only person that I want to become is who I am now. I want to be able to continue discovering who I am. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family, friends and my Boston Terrier "Kookey". I am a fun-loving, caring, big hearted, and at times hard headed. I am and "everone lover her" young lady. I love to read, draw and sketch, work out and love to learn new things. I love to cook when time permits and my favorite dish is Italian. I laugh for everything anf anything, sometines too loud. I enjor my life. I have had an interesting past, present and more likely thank not, I will have an interesting future. I hope you have injoyed reading my "My Life....Mi Historia" as much as I have enjoyed writing it to you. I would encourage and recommend for those that are in college or plan to attend to finish and to get as much as you can out of that experience and to never stop learning. If you think it, it can be done. I thought I could....I believed and I have finally accomplished it...you can too!! |
