This is a description of what your horse will learn in Show Jumping training.
Ground Level
The first step in the level is to get your horse to show jumping tack and poles. He/She will be lunged with a jumping saddle and a bridle around a round pen. On the second day he/she will be in round pen with saddle and bridle and poles where she/he will learn to step over the poles.
Beginning Level
Your horse will be ridden at a walk and trot over poles. Then he/she will also do this at a canter. Your horse will also work on tight turns and bending.
Intermediate Level
This consists mostly of learning how to do sharper turns and bend around corners to prepare for jumps. Your horse will also work on cross-rails, cavelettis and jumps under 2'3".
Advanced Level
In this your horse will be taken out one trails and in the race track to build speed and stamina. Your horse will be slowly brought up into a fast pace that he/she will be able to run at for a long time and that is hard to beat. Then he/she will learn to jump up to 4'0".
Championship Level
This level is when you horse will jump his/her maxium height, which for most show jumpers is about 6'0"-7'0". For a week he will be worked on difficult and some easy courses as fast as possible and for the last day he will get a calm relaxing massage.
