This is a description of what your horse will learn in Cross-Country training.
Ground Level
The first step in the level is to get your horse to cross-country tack and poles. He/She will be lunged with a jumping saddle and a bridle around a round pen. On the second day he/she will be in round pen with saddle and bridle and poles where she/he will learn to step over the poles.
Beginning Level
Your horse will be ridden at a walk and trot over poles. Then he/she will also do this at a canter. Your horse will also be taken out on trails and endurace courses to learn steady footing.
Intermediate Level
This consists mostly of learning how to do sharp turns on wet, slippery, and dry grounds. Your horse will also work on cross-rails, cavelettis and jumps under 2'3" with Hunter/Jumper jumps.

Your horse will be slowly brought up into a fast pace that he/she will be able to run at for a long time (miles and miles for x-country) and that is hard to beat. Then he/she will learn to jump up to 4'0". Your horse will also do some easy cross-country courses.
Championship Level
This level is when you horse will jump cross-country maxium height, which for most high level courses is about 4'0". For a week he/she will be worked on difficult cross-country courses as fast as possible and for the last day he will get a calm relaxing massage.
