Wow is a term that maybe an understatement.
Between the 2002 and 2003 seasons, Commissioner Jeffrey R. Sacks is planning to revamp and rethink the entire ILB. With the help of current league owners, a mimic of professional sports headlines is taking place in Internet League Baseball, however with an interesting twist.
The New York Yankees will be contracted.
Contracted to give way for three new teams and one new owner.
The new names in the ILB picture are Jeff Nathanson, Tom Hart, Loren Garby, and Tim Kneedy. Obviously sports knowledge is no judge of who can own a team. Illinois Freezers owner Brad Freas will now put complete control of his team into the hands of Garby. Interesting.
The Yanks and the Freezers are going to put up the entire team to the Expansion Flea Market.
New owners will draft players that are released in 5 fold from the current teams.
Ba-Da-Bing.
That’s what is planned to occur, but what is the league going to look like after these changes.
Kansas, Nebraska, Glenview Cubs, Glenview Sox, and Nathanson’s team will be in the central.
This means that Kansas and Nebraska will keep their rivalry and now Jim Tenzillo will be able to watch an expansion team surpass him in the standings. They will lose Team Drew who is currently the 3rd place team in that division.
The Eastern Division will lose the Chicago Cubs and the Silver Cubs. Interesting. Jeff Sacks’ only competition for the Division Title in the East are suddenly going to be shipped cross country to the West, a new division. This can only fuel a fire surrounding ILB owner and commissioner Jeffrey Sacks.
The West won’t be an easy division for Hart’s team to climb up. Robby Silver, Mike LaCassa, and Drew Formantini are all solid owners with solid teams.
Expansion is good for the new owners, and good for Jeff Sacks, but is it good for baseball?
