| As the trading deadline comes to a close, with it comes some hefty decisions aimed at ILB Owners. ILB may see the end of a long lasting friendship between Nebraska Huskers owner Sam Frink and Seattle Sounders owner Tom Hart. The two engaged in a dispute over a trade involving Hart's best |
| pitching prospect, RHP Charlie Wills. Sam Frink offered Hart a numerous amount of deals including 2 ammy picks and Frink's top pitching prospect Hector Mains for Wills. Sam Frink referred to Hart as a "backstabbing ape" while Hart believes he's just looking at all the options. Frink believes Hart acts like a bad owner. Hart was ticketed for looking at ILB reports in an un-authorized zone once this year. Frink also believes that Hart intentionally stabbed him in the back by offering Wills to Sacks and Chicago White Sox owner Brad Schneider. Meanwhile, Jeff Sacks has been sitting tight as of late to not offend Hart in any way as he is trying to solidify a deal for Wills. Other than the entire mess over who Wills will go to, one will have to wait and see what other trades will pan out. ILB Weekly knows of a trade in the works between Chicago Cubs owner Mike Francis LaCassa and Tennesse Tuxedoes owner Jeff Nathanson. LaCassa is apparently after Tennesse SP Eddie Collier. Collier is a 32 year old pitcher and might go to LaCassa as a rental for the rest of the season. The addition of Collier to Chicago's rotation would make scoring a run on the team quite a feat. LaCassa is already has the best record in ILB and is virtually unstoppable now. Chicago's ball club will have an easy time in the playoffs with or without the addition of Collier. The Cubs are my pick to win the Series again this year. Now, the question on everybody's mind is; How will Mike be able to put two trophies on his Buddy Icon? |
