Tension around the league still exists from the expansion talks however Commissioner Jeff Sacks has more important issues to handle; he wants to lead the Michigan Wolverines to the title as the first ILB world champions.

Eastern division winners Michigan Wolverines are resting on dominant pitching to win the 7 game series against Coach Dan Parcell's Kansas Jayhawks.

Consistant production out of Michigan's two 20 game winners Nestor Silvestri and Eddie Alexander has given Wolverine sluggers Dusty Wright, Frank Jackson, and Cliff Magrane a chance to break games out early. After the early innings Sacks can feel comfortable putting in middle reliever Kurt Bayless in. With a .57 ERA and the coinciding league title, Bayless is truely the leader of the bullpen. His only problem is his mediocre closer Doc Huff.

While Michigan will use pitching to overpower the Jayhawks, Dan Parcell hopes to utilize potential league MVP Jim Cunningham and rock Michigan pitching early. Cunningham started off with a .340 Batting Average and fell to his season finish of .280. Midseason, Cunningham announced his engagement to tennis sensation Anna Kournikova. Analysts suspect this is reason for his BA decline. Cunningham tells ILB Weekly that this is not the case, "My engagement to [Anna] has nothing to do with my troubles at the plate . I lost my original fire but I've been working with the batting coach to improve. Come November i hope to have more jewlery then just my wedding band."
