George Mercedes is the main reason the Chicago Cubs are so good. He is hands down the best first baseman in the league and some would venture to say this years' potential MVP. He is currently batting a league high .365. Throw in a .685 slugging percentage (1), 27 hits (1), 7 HRs (1), and 23 RCs (1). Factor all that in and you get the same conclusion. Mercedes is Number One (1).
