The Standard of the American Bantam Association for the Blue Silkie requires the both the male Silkie and the female Silkie to have a lustrous bluish black head. The hackle, back, saddle, tail, wings and body a uniform shade of slaty blue clearly laced with bluish black. The undercolor should be a uniform slaty blue.
