IKV Astris News

Kathy Mullins, CO Reporting
We had an excellent rendezvous at the Adelfia Restaurant in South Hadley. Four honorable warriors joined me today.
Mike Masailo (Mertel) owns a computer optics company in Connecticut, and was nominated as the official events planner for our ship. He is full of wonderful ideas for social activities. He suggested such outings as going to Lake Compounce (amusement park), paintball, medieval events, and visiting beautiful Mystic Seaport. He also was named the ship?s "weapons officer".
Joel Geoffrey is an amateur astronomer, and suggested an interesting outing to Northfield, Mass. for an amateur astronomy convention. He also talked with us about astronomy, and his knowledge is quite impressive! We appointed Joel as the ship's "science officer."
Tom Carroll is our resident Marine. Everyone enjoyed listening to him tell us about his experiences as a Starfleet Marine. We plan on having a Marine detachment with the IKV Astris as a result. Tom made a wonderful suggestion to have a blood drive later in the year.
Dean Cadet delighted us with his marvelous sense of humor and his enthusiasm for being part of the IKV Astris? Marine detachment.
I am thrilled to have these fine men join the IKV Astris. This meeting was a success.
I welcome anyone to add article submissions to make the IKV Astris newsletter even more interesting. I am looking forward to hearing from you with those article ideas!!
Our next meeting will be on May 8, 2004 at 1pm at the Adelfia Restaurant.
