Epilogue.
Sitting in the kitchen he smelt the strong scents coming from the other room. The ceremony had been too much for him, seeing her lying there like that had been too hard and he hadn’t been able to take it. Her cousins sat around him in their traditional outfits looking as beautiful as ever and yet all of them paled in comparison to what Kirsten had looked like.
“What are you going to do now?” Astrid asked as she handed Christian a cup of tea. Accepting it although he knew it would do nothing for him he shrugged.
“I haven’t a clue. Probably just finish high school.”
“I meant about the wild power. You must be it. You have a responsibility.”
“I doubt it. I think I’m going to take off… I don’t belong here. I…I…I have to go.” Christian stood up and went to leave but Astrid caught hold of his arm and stood him still.
“I think you should go see the oracles. They could give you some direction.”
“The oracles hate vampires.” Christian stated.
“They hate everyone. Just go see them.” Nodding Christian followed the girls down to the basement and stood in the centre of their ritual and waited to be taken to the next dimension. As the bright light exploded into the room he found himself standing in front of the two oracles.
“We have been expecting you chosen one.” They both said together.
“Really? I didn’t even know I was coming here till a minute ago. Do you have any advice for me?”
“No. We do not dispense advice, that is not our job. We give guidance to those who have lost their way. Are you lost oh chosen one?”
“Yes actually. What am I supposed to do now? They all think I’m the wild power and I have no idea what that job entails.” Christian admitted. He had heard before that the oracles were cold and demanded gifts but they seemed to be quite pleasant, almost friendly.
“You are one of the wild powers. Three others shall rise to fight the battle which will decide the fate of your dimension. One less than four on the side of the light and darkness will reign over your dimension and it will be hells playground. You are the first to rise, we suggest you focus your powers and prepare yourself for battle. Your soul mate will help you.”
“My soul mate is dead. That’s how I got this gig isn’t it?” Christian said sadly.
“She is far from dead.” The female oracle clapped her hands and Kirsten appeared wearing a long gold dress and her hair tied back into small ringlets. “She may have left your world but she isn’t dead. She is just a higher being.” Christian ran to her and placed his arms around her waist. Enjoying the sight of her smile once again. He went to kiss her but the male oracle waved his hand making him fly back into the wall of the temple.
“It is a form of disgrace to kiss a higher being in front of the oracles.” The male oracle said smiling. Christian grinned sheepishly as Kirsten smiled. “You were right previously when you said her name means chosen one. She was not the chosen one to be a wild power, only to be a higher being.”
“That’s great but whilst she’s up here how is she going to help me?” The female oracle flicked her wrist and a small silver necklace appeared around Christian’s neck, fastened and with a pendant on it. A small cross with three jewels in it.
“Whenever you need her. Just rub the pendant and she will be with you. Do not abuse your power Christian because it can and will be taken away from you. Good luck, you’re going to need it.” The oracles turned around leaving Kirsten alone with Christian. She ran into his arms and kissed him quickly before the male oracle waved his hand and he was sent hurtling through the dimensions. Landing softly on his feet he smiled as he saw all of the girls around him.
“How come he didn’t go crashing into the wall?” Onyx complained.
“Be hushed Amethyst!” Astrid answered. “What happened? What did they say?”
“They said I’m the wild power and that three more will rise. If all four of us don’t come together on the good side then darkness will rule.”
“Did they give you any advice?”
“No… they didn’t but they gave me something better.”
“What was that then?” Christian stroked the pendant gently and smiled.
“A ticket to my soul and a prodigy…”
~Hey guys, that was the end of Prodigy! I hope you liked it. Now for the sort of bad news, after all of “It could happen to you” has been uploaded I wont be uploading any more fictions. Ever. I do have like ten on my computer that only a few have ever read but I think it would be best if I stop writing. I hope you have enjoyed what I have done so far. Take care everybody. Taz~
