Ceramic Sculptures -Chicken Lady Series |

From Chicken Lady Series...
In Chicken Lady Series, I explored various political, social and cultural issues such as gender politics, identity politics, and the issues of cultural fusion and invasion. Rather than making overt political statements, I approached these issues from more intuitive perspectives and related to my personal cross-cultural experiences. Many pieces from this series were inspired by colors, themes, and concepts of Ukiyo-e, Japanese woodblock prints, as well as graphic novels and comic books, probably the most widely accepted and popular art form in Japanese society today. |
