Inter Generational We need some assistance in coordinating/hosting IG Social dinners and group outings in Memphis, Knoxville, Chattanooga and Nashville. There is a few requirements you must fulfill before we will consider you for a coordinator/host. Keep in mind there can be more than one coordinator/host for an area.
If you fulfill all the above all you need to do is send us an email [email protected] letting us know of your interest. Include in the email your location of interest and your yahoo profile name so we can verify your information. Does it cost me anything? No, It will not cost you anything to be a coordinator/host. If you are willing to have a pot luck in your home then the cost will be shared amongst those that wish to attend the potluck. Have a basic menu plan laid out so everyone has an idea of what they need to bring. If at a restaurant the cost is paid by the persons attending the dinner however keep the cost of meals in mind when selecting a restaurant. Some may be on a limited budget. How much time do I have to spend? Amount of time will vary as you will need to correspond with those interested in attending a function. Locating a restaurant and writing up a post to send to the group about the function. If it is a pot luck the only time is getting ready for your company to arrive and planning. How will I let everyone know about the event? We
will add the date and location of your social function to the IG calendar. Then
you can post information about the event (type
of event, max. number of people and so on)
and all the details you feel that
folks need to know on the IG group. Keep in mind to only give out the
address of your home to those that confirm directly with you. Have them give
you their username on yahoo and at least their first name and last initial. Do
keep in mind if you wish there to be a separate “play time” get together
after the main get together it is fine but do let folks know that is what
you would like to have occur and the time. This gives those that do not wish
to attend such an event time to socialize and get to know folks then as time
arrives for your “play time” together they can graciously depart. What about photos? It would be nice if pictures are taken of the event to be placed in the socials photo album. Just keep in mind that some folks may not wish to have their picture taken so do ask before any pictures are taken of anyone. We will create albums for the different cities of the events and place the pictures in the appropriate folder. What is a good time and day to have a function? What ever works best first for you. Then get a feeling for what is a good time and day for everyone. Do keep in mind there are some folks that won't be able to attend one event but might be able too at a later date and time. There may only be a handful to show but don't get discouraged.
