Iggy Cup & BotR Cup

Both Iggy Cup and the Best of the Rest Cup are unofficial cups for managers that play exhibition games on Senior League Hockey (Iggy-server). To enter and play the tournament you need to pay for challenging the other teams that are to play in your cup division. If you already play (and pay for) a lot of ex games, it won't cost you any extra credits to play these cups. From season 2008-09 we have merged the Iggy Cup with the BotR Cup, so that we at the end of each tourney will have promotions from BotR up to the Iggy Cup and relegations from the Iggy Cup to BotR. BotR is an "open" tourney were everybody can join, regardless of team or manager status. No team are to bad or to good to play in this cup. You only need to be serious with challenging and accepting ex games with the other managers at the start of the new season. So you need to be certain you have 1000 credits at the start of next season to play!!!

Iggy Cup

The Iggy Cup will still have 11 teams, and 5 teams will be promoted/relegated after each season from/to the BotR. So the new Iggy Cup is a "closed" tourney where you have to play BotR first to qualify.  The tourney has 11 teams, so each manager needs to challenge the 10 others for an ex game at the total cost of 1000 credits. With 11 teams you play the 10 other teams two times for a total of 20 ex games.

Best of the Rest Cup

We are set to have two BotR divisions for the tourney in season 2009-10. Each division with 11 teams, and a total of 22 BotR teams. But we would like to be flexible and allow in as many teams as possible. We can take a maximum of 11 teams in each division, and can possibly also put up a third division, if we have massive response from interested managers. If there will be 11 teams in each BotR division, each manager needs to challenge the 10 others for a ex game at the total cost of 1000 credits. It gives you a total of 20 ex games. 5 teams will be promoted from BotR after each season to the Iggy Cup.

How to enter the next BotR Cup

We surely like to keep as many of the current BotR managers as possible. At the same time we will also like to take in as many new teams as possible. Most likely someone will pull out of the next tourney, and these "dropouts" will be replaced with other interested managers. The current managers that would like to stay in the tourney must make a post on the "Next BotR and Iggy Cup" thread on the forum (Iguana - general), before the current seasons playoffs starts. New interested managers must also make a post at the same forum thread. The new ones will be put on a "waiting list" until we know how many of the current BotR managers that are staying for the next tourney. The final list of managers to play the upcoming BotR Cup will be decided at the end of the season (during the playoff).

Challenging and accepting cup games

If a manager doesn't challenge (home = you pay) for ex games with all other managers and accept challenges (away = they pay) within a few days of the new season, the team can be kicked out of the cup. Check out all the teams/managers in your division on the web page for the next tourneys. Make sure you have 2 games scheduled with each team in your division. With 11 teams you play the 10 other teams two times for a total of 20 ex games. You can check this on the exhibition page. Games you have made the challenge (and that the other team have accepted) will show status = cancel. And the games were you have accepted the other teams challenge will show status = refuse. If you have games with both Cancel/Refuse against all the other team in the tourney, everything is set and you are ready to play the cup.

Final standings

If two or more teams end up with equal points in the final cup standings, this will decide their ranking order:

1) head-to-head (aggregate score)
2) goal difference (+/-)
3) lowest goals allowed
