Mission statement:
Bay Area Iranians for peace and social justice is an action group with a focus on issues of social justice and peace.
It came about in 2001 as a response to the 911 tragedies in 2001 and its horrendous aftermath of the bombing of Afghanistan and Iraq.
We believe we should relate our experience as people that have endured U.S. intervention and feel the necessity to link our experience to the struggle of oppressed people here in the U.S. and worldwide.
We believe it is necessary to unite the Iranian community against war and U.S. aggression in the Middle East. We oppose the so-called “war on terrorism” as primarily a war for economic, geopolitical, and ideological control of the entire region by the U.S.
The Iranian community must unite with other communities & the nation to oppose hate crimes and defend and protect civil liberties in the U.S.
We are against all forms of exploitation, racism, Zionism, and destruction of the environment and support social justice and peace throughout the globe.
We believe in peaceful alternatives for resolving conflicts through international bodies.
