| The
franchise initially entered the league as the “Raleigh Rebels” under
the ownership and management of Jason Imhoff. The Rebels won the
inaugural Interstate Bowl vs. Tecumseh. The franchise changed
hands following the 2000 season. Coach Bill Cox has continued the
franchise’s winning ways, as you can see here. Team Nostalgia: |

Notes: Named for its stop on the railway, College Station is a beautiful little burg with a number of adoring fans. Coach Cox did a lot of research before placing his franchise in College Station--he said he wanted the "right mix" of females of a certain age in his fanbase. Home to the George H. W. Bush presidential library, College Station carries some big-time political clout. But obviously so do the Cyclones. For lots of other great information about the city of College Station, be sure to check here. Franchise Location: ![]() |
Coach
Cox has traditionally driven his players to the breaking point,
attempting to get maximum results from maximum effort. This has
made him rather unpopular with his players. Hence his nickname
around training camp: Big Cox.
