| One night, Lisa decided to use her Quija board. "Hello?" She whispered. Slowly, the planchette began to move, "H-E-L-L-O." Lisa gasped. "Who's there?" "A-N-N-A-B-E-L" Now, Lisa was really scared now, so she unknowingly asked a question you shouldn't ask- "How do I know you're real? Prove it, send me a sign." Suddenly, the small items in the room began to shake and fall over, the lights flashed on and off. Annabel became so scared that she ran out of the room and as soon as she shut the door, everything stopped moving. Lisa was curious to see if she could contact Annabel again. Sure enough, she could. This time, Lisa didn't ask for Annabel to prove her existence, she asked about her life. Apparantly, Annabel had been a widow who had only one possesion to remember her husband by- her crystal necklace. Lisa was also a fan of sappy romance novels and was moved by her tale. "Where is it now?" Lisa asked. "I-N M-Y H-O-U-S-E." But before Lisa could ask about her house, she was interupted by her mother shouting, "Dinner, honey!" After a few more conversations, Lisa and Annabel became friends. The subject of the necklace didn't come up again for a week. "Hey, Annabel, where is your house?" Slowly but surely, the planchette moved to spell out a street no more than a half hour away from Lisa's. "I know where that is!" "W-I-L-L Y-O-U G-E-T I-T F-O-R M-E?" Annabel finally asked. Lisa hesitated. "Sure, I have a break from school next week." She finally agreed. As Lisa drove to Annabel's house, it became colder. She began to regret her decision to get her necklace. But, it seemed really important to Annabel and Lisa wanted her to rest in peace. Finally, down an old dirt road, Lisa saw Annabel's old, broken-down house. The stairs creaked as she stepped on them. She pushed on the door but it wouldn't open. As she turned aroung to go home, it slowly creaked open. Taking a big breath, Lisa walked in. The door shut behind her. Suddenly, things began to move and she heard laughter. Lisa was found dead a week later. Her parents had noticed Lisa playing with the quija board often and became desperate enough to try to contact her with it. "Hello?" They asked. "S-O-R-R-Y S-O-R-R-Y S-O-R-R-Y" It answered again and again. "Do you know how Lisa died?" They asked. "Y-E-S, C-O-M-E T-O M-Y H-O-U-S-E A-N-D Y-O-U W-I-L-L F-I-N-D A-N-S-W-E-R-S..." Annabel said, luring them into her trap. They joined their daughter a day later. |
