| Ghost Hunting for the Needy Paranormal investigator Dean Maynard has been raising money for charities- by looking for ghosts and the like. Maynard is sponsored to go and check out some haunted houses. He recently stayed at Newcastle's Theatre Royale with three of his friends. There, they met a ghost called Anne who supposedly died by throwing herself off a gallery. The profits from such events go to the children's cancer charity Charlie Bear, based at Newcastle General Hospital. Maynard said, "We wanted to do something different to raise money and I have always been interested in the paranormal, but I suppose this is a bit odd!" Thanks to the Sunday Sun for the info. | Oregon Vortex 9/25 A house in Gold Hill, Oregon has an area of land that is 22 acres up for sale for 3.5 million. Scarey, eh? Well, it's supposed to be. The land containd the "Oregon Vortex" and has been a tourist site for years now, as a supposed area with many unexplainable phenomenons. The power is supposedly strongest when the moon is full and balls roll uphill, brooms stand on end, and shapes are distorted. The house itself isn't wonderful, though. There are a few places like this in the world. Thanks to the New York Times for the info. Click here to comment. |

A few children were playing football outside when someone kicked the ball into the building. A kid went to go get it, and ran back out screaming "Ghosts! Ghosts!" All of the children ran away, and when the word spread, the students at the school refused to go the next day. Teachers would show up, but no one else would. After a week of this, the principal and a few others went around asking students to return. Story thanks to The Peninsula. Click here to comment. |
