One day, there was a boy named Anthony Miller. He was very normal, except that he made things whatever he wanted them to be and he knew what people were thinking. Nobody was happy about Anthony's powers, but they always had to think good thoughts, and if Anthony thought you were bad, he would turn you into a bug or something equally horrible. One Saturday afternoon, it was the Miller's friend's birthday. The friend's name was Jake. Jake didn't like Anthony at all, and he knew Anthony didn't like him, but he still had to think positively. Everybody at Jake's party presented him with a present, his favorite record. Jake wanted to listen to it, so he said: " Can I play this? I absolutely can't wait until I get home!" Anthony didn't like the idea. He wanted their other guest Rich to play the piano, so he did. Jake started drinking the whisky they left out and he dropped his glass. Anthony glared at him. "I don't want to hear any noise while he's playing the piano!" Jake was still drinking the whisky and his wife, Ethel whispered to hin, " Jake, stop! You don't want Anthony to do anything to you! Stop, Jake!" But Jake wouldn't listen. "You know, there's only five botles of whisky left in the village. When that's gone, there's gonna be no whisky left at all!" He laughed. "I can't even play my own record!" Then he walked over to Rich. "Stop playing that. Play Happy Birthday, for me." "Jake, Stop! Jake!" Ethel screamed. Everybody else covered Ethel's mouth so Anthony wouldn't get angry. Rich Wouldn't play "Happy Birthday." Jake was VERY mad now."You two," (He pointed at the parents.) "You had him. Without him, I'd have my whisky. We'd all be able to think what we wanted to think." This angered Anthony. But Jake wasn't done yet. "You're a monster. A murderer!" He paused and pointed at Anthony. His parents were crying. "You think about me now. Think your awful thoughts about me. Maybe someone in this room is brave enough to end this once and for all!" Anthony dared. "You're a bad man. You're a very bad man. You think that. Keep thinking I'm a very bad man. Somebody, get behind him! End this once and for all! Somebody, while he's thinking about me, end this!" Nobody moved, but everybody began to cry. Poor Jake looked around, nobody was brave enough. "Somebody? Anybody? Help me end this!" Anthony accused, "You're a very bad man. And you keep thinking bad thoughts about me." So, anthony pointed at Jake and he became a jack-in-the-box with, with his own body as Jack.
