Lucid dreaming is knowing you're dreaming while you're dreaming. Once you are at this state, you can alter or edit the dream however you want. I remember when I was really little, I had a bad dream where my house was being robbed and I turned myself into Sailor Moon. Ok, I was little. Shut up. But back on topic- there are a couple of ways to make yourself lucid dream. One is to pich yourself about every hour or so and ask, "Am I dreaming." Another is to look at any writing and then turn around and look again. Chances are that if it still says the same thing, you're awake. After a while, you'll know when you're asleep because it'll become automatic.
Once you've figured out that you're dreaming, the fun begins. this is because you can virtually do anything, be anyone, or go anywhere you want to. The first thing I would try is flying- it's tons of fun. Just kind of will yourself to fly, believe it, like in Peter Pan hehehe. But seriously, I've had better results when I just stand and do than then when I jump and try to hold myself there. Start out small, levitate a few inches above the ground and then come back down. Then try and move a little in one direction, or do a flip. See how high you can go, how fast you can fly. This is especially helpful when you're falling in your dream- you can stop yourself.

Ok, so you've mastered flying, now what? Dream spinning- it's also incredibly cool. You can move yourself anywhere you want, or even enter someone's dream. My cousin entered my dream for a lil while the night I taught her this. It's easy. All you have to do, is think really hard of the person or place you want to go to. Spin slowly with your arms out and eyes shut- it doesn't really matter which way. When you open your eyes, you should be wherever it was you wanted to be. Keep in mind that:
- You can breath underwater or anywhere basically.
- You can visit places on earth.
- They don't have to be on earth.
- They don't have to be real (mythological places).
- They could be gone now (Atlantis).
