Don't Look Back
Once, two best friends, Mark and Jane were going to a costume party. Mark ran for an hour a day and wasn't into the whole party idea. His costume was a jogging suit, much to Jane's dislike. "Where's your costume?" She asked hime. "This is it, I'm going as a jogger." Mark said. Jane sighed. "You are a jogger, Mark." Jane was elaboratly dressed in a full on princess outfit complete with a tiara and puffy skirt. Mark just shrugged. "Lets get going." When Jane saw Mark's super-old, rusty cary waiting to go she sighed again. "How's it working?" Mark frowned, "I've been having some problems with it latley, but it should get us there." Jane wished Mark had let her drive, but she didn't say anything. Mark loved his car and she didn't want to hurt his feelings. Their friend lived a little while away on the outskirts of the town. The car's heater wasn't working. "Do you get any radio stations?" Jane asked. "One, the news. Is that OK?" Jane nodded and waited for the staticy radio transmission to clear. It got dark quickly and soon they were so far away that the raod wasn't even paved. "This just in, a psychopath murderer has escaped from the Stanton Insane Assylum. Anyone in the area should be as cautious as possible and if they have any information on the whereabouts of him, please call..." The radio broke up. Jane had already had her cell phone out to call for help. "Mark we're in Stanton! The insane assylum is really close!" Jane shrieked. Mark hit the radio but they only got a bit of static before the transmission broke up again. As if things couldn't get any worse, the car's engine sputtered to a stop. Mark got out to look at it. After  a while he came back and said, "The engine's dead. We're going to need to call for help." That would have been fine if the cell phone could get a signal and it was too low on batteries to keep trying anyway. "I'll have to go get help." Mark said reluclantly. "I'm coming with you." Mark pointed to her four inch heels and laughed. "Look at your outfit it would take forever.Besides, I'm already dressed for the job." He reasoned. After much arguing, they decided that Jane wouldn't come with Mark. To help her fear, they made up a plan. "You hide in to back of the car under to blanket. When I come back, I'll knock eight times. Don't open it unless you hear them." Jane got into the back and Mark covered her up. "Ok." Jane listened to the pounding of Marks feet untill the were too faint to hear. After a while, she had enough courage to sleep. Some time later she was awakened by a loud knock and she almost got out untill she remembered that there were seven more. After a minute, she was freaked. There was no other knock. "Some psycho is probably playing games with me!" she thought  KNOCK, KNOCK. Just five more! KNOCK. Four! KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK. One more! "KNOCK, KNOCK." He must've forgotten the number'" But knocking didn't stop as she got out of the car. Instead of seeing Mark, she saw many police lights flashing around her. "Ma'am please walk toward us and whatever you do, don't look back." said one trooper in front of his his car. Jane hesitantly walked forward, the police repeating the phrase over and over the entire time. When she reached them, Jane suddenly looked behind her. What she saw made her scream. Mark had been hung from the tree above the car and the wind was blowing him into it.
