| The Dead Bird | ||||||
| I had just come home from the mall one day, and to my suprise I saw a bird in the fireplace. I went over to see it, but it just layed there so I figured it was dead. I saw a note on the table that said, "Dear Kasey, I have gone to the store for a shovel and some dirt." I thought he needed these supplies to bury the bird so I didn't tell anyone about it. It turned out he was just going to the store for garden supplies. That night, I woke up from a creepy dream with chills down my back. I began to hear all these noises that sounded like creeking and rattling, so I got out of bed and went downstairs to see what was causing them. When I looked at the fireplace, the bird was no where to be seen. I was scared, so I went back upstairs to go to bed. It was pitch black so I couldn't see a thing. There was a leak in my ceiling, so when I felt something damp on my bed, I thought it was just water from the leak. When I went under the covers, I remembered my dad had fixed that leak last week. I was horrified to find out what it was. I felt something by my arm so I turned aroudn to look. There lying next to me was the dead bird, and that moisture was its blood everywhere. I screamed and went in my moms room, and she helped me wash off the blood. To this day I still don't know how the bird got in my room, but now I'm scared of them. I will never forget that night. |
