This page highlights some pictures from our 2 week Honeymoon in Brazil.
We spent the first week in Recife - a coastal city in the northeast.
We then flew to Manaus - 500 miles inland on the Amazon River - where the Rio Negro meets the Rio Solomons.
After a day in the city, we took boats 30 miles upstream to the Jungle Towers Hotels.
We spent 4 days in this hotel - built up in the canopy of the "flooded forest" portion of the rain forest.
We flew to Iguasso Falls for 2 days.
Finally, we spent an afternoon in Rio De Janiero before returning home.
Mere images cannot describe the glory that is a Recife street festival.
This is the crowd surrounding a band which is playing atop a tractor trailer as it rolls by us in a street parade.
A sunset in Manaus - note how big the river is - wider than the Mississippi - at low water - 500 miles inland.
When we first walked into the jungle towers, Marianne instantly made friends with the local black spider monkey - Sonya.
A night catching gators in a very narrow boat. Catch and release.
A foggy picture of Rio - note how I like to get my thumb into as many pics as possible.
My impression of Rio - New York City with gorgeous beaches. All the grime of a big city, but gorgeous beaches.
