Elmer George COWGILL.1277. Robert Lee COWGILL was born in 1869 in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky. He died in 1930 in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky. As a young man he was a farmer, then later owned a retail grocery store. After selling his store, he became associated as a salesman in the city of Lexington with the wholesale grocery firm of Curry, Tunis and Norwood. The firm changed ownership on several occasions and later was known as Payne Witenack Co.
He was married to Clara HARTING (daughter of
Unknown HARTING) in 1894. Clara HARTING
was buried in Clave Hill Cemetery, Louisville, Kentucky. Robert Lee COWGILL
and Clara HARTING had the following children:
