Some might say genre-locking a band like Arizonas iEsorE is a sin. With music that draws its roots from variants of heavy metal to light emo to breaths of classic rock, it almost seems impossible to do. But if you try to define them, just dont call them punk. The boys of iEsorE draw their influences from bands such as Korn, the Deftones, Chevelle, Tool, System of a Down, Pantera, Black Sabbath, and Nonpoint.

The phenomena of iEsorE began in the fall of 2001 when Tyler met Tunde and Ryan, who were in the process of trying to assemble a band with another guitarist. While the style was what Tyler was looking for, he opted out of joining them for the time being. In March of 2002, Tunde called Tyler up and asked him to again play with him and Ryan. This time, Tyler accepted the challenge and they began writing as a band with their first vocalist.

Vocalist number one didnt last long, so the band went looking for someone else. They came up with the answer in late September of 2002 by way of Bacchus, who was a good match at that time. Shortly after, they added in second guitarist, Terry. In January of 2003, iEsorE began playing the local Arizona scene, with shows at venues such as Mr. Luckys, Evolution, The Bash on Ash, and Alice Cooperstown. It wasnt long before their sheer talent and enthusiasm for the music garnered them a small following. iEsorE began recording their first demo at the beginning of April.

In April of 2003, irreconcilable differences between Bacchus and the rest of the band led to his departure and the search was again on for a new vocalist, leaving only half of the demo recorded. Towards the middle of May, the boys found Billy. Shortly after Billy joined iEsorE, Terry opted to leave the band for personal reasons.

The current incarnation of the band is hard at work on new songs. The boys plan on playing shows again within the next couple of months, and look forward to a second chance at recording shortly after. Be sure to visit their website (http://www.geocities.com/iesore2003) for more information.
