Silver Skeights
She skates
with all her friends
racing
toward the finish line.
Blue skies
the sun shines bright
they soar
through the race of life.
Suddenly a
thin spot in the ice
before her
she can't slow down.
A crash
then silence.
She falls
hidden from veiw.
Sinking
in icy water
she nearly
wants to die.
Last chance
she struggles upward
reaches out
breaking the surface.
The water
pulls her back again
surrounding
her in black.
Ten hands
reach down to her
her friends
came back to help.
Upward
they pull her
out
of that water.
They guide
keep her straight
they care
won't let her die.
Together
they skate onward
forever
friends and helpers.
