Answers to Questions 1-7


Q:1. What is a jpeg and when is it used?
A: "JPEG" stands for "Joint Photographic Experts Group". It is a graphic file format used for photographs, paintings and very large images. JPEGs are supported for use as inline images for browsers. Jpegs loose image quality when they are compressed.

Q:2.What is a gif and when is it used?
A: "GIF" stands for "Graphic Interchange Format". It is a graphic file format used for graphics. It is used for any image with flat color, such as logos,icons, animations etc. It compresses them cleanly.

Q:3. What is Emacs?
A: Emacs is a text editor. Text editors are used to edit text on the server. Text editors save files only in ASCII format they can't do high-powered formatting.

Q:4. Why would you use Emacs?
A: Emacs has html mode and you can look at directories within the editor. Ypu can work with files directly on the server, which elimenates the need to reload the files after changes have been made.

Q:5. What is a protocol?
A: Protocol is a set of agreements about how information will be transferred among Internet.

Q:6. What does FTP stand for?
FTP stands for "File Transfer Protocol" . It is a program for uploading files to the server. Protocol for sharing files between computers through the Internet.

Q:7. When do you use FTP?
A: It is used when we upload files on the server in order for them to be visible on the Internet.
