Latisha Crockett
At first glance, Latisha LeNell Crockett appears to be just another name. However, my middle name is a combination of my two grandmothers’ middle names. My parents decided to name me after my grandma Ida Lee Bean and Annie Nell Crockett. I was born in Victoria, Texas but my parents moved to Houston when I was three years old. Since then, I have lived in Houston and attended New Life Tabernacle C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Pastor Carl Anthony Davis. It is there that I serve as the leader of the Soprano section in the choir. I graduated from Langham Creek High School in 2003 and I am currently a junior at Prairie View A&M University. My major is Electrical Engineering and I minor in Mathematics. I currently serve as the PVAMU I.E.E.E. Fundraising Committee Chair. I am currently employed by Texas Instruments as the PVAMU Campus Star where my responsibility is to help promote TI and recruit Prairie View’s finest for future employment. I also work in C.E.C.S.T.R. (The Center of Excellence for Communications Technology Research) at PVAMU and operate as the CEO of Le-Nell. Le-Nell (Le-Nell.com) is an online jewelry business that specializes in handcrafted, artisan jewelry. During the Summer of 2006, I will be participating in the N.A.S.A. S.L.S.T.P. (Spaceflight and Lunar Sciences Technology Program) in Florida.Upon my return to PVAMU in the Fall of 2006, I plan to remain active in I.E.E.E. I desire to see I.E.E.E. more active around campus and in the community. It is important that this is done so that others are able to see the importance of I.E.E.E. I.E.E.E. assist engineers and those who specialize in related sciences form around the world to unite and network. In a World where everything is constantly changing, communication is necessary so that everyone is on one accord.
