| Strawberry Music Festival happens over Memorial and Labor Day Weekends every year. I only go over Memorial Day weekend and this year was my 4th Strawberry. It is held at Camp Mather in Yosemite. Surrounded by 350 acres of mountains, meadows and pine forests, it is within hiking distance of the Hetch Hetchy, the "Grand Canyon of the Toulomne". Our campground always faces the hidden meadow (as long as we get there first-so far so good). A beautiful and peace-filled, quiet meadow with little creeks running through it (except when my little cousins Julia and Stuart and their friends run out there and make noise!!) We trek up to music meadow during the days and enjoy the folk, bluegrass and whatever other kinds of music are on stage that day. After an afternoon break for some jamming , dinner, cleaning up and general relaxing, we head back up to the meadow for some more good tunes. 4 days of this...pure bliss!!! A gorgeous weekend, great music and great company. Another great Strawberry. I am already looking forward to next year! |
