The Avon Breast Cancer 3 Day is one of the most rewarding adventures that I continue to participate in. I walked the 3 Day in Atlanta in October 1999 and crewed at a "Grab 'n Go" water stop in San Francisco, July 2000 and will crew again this summer as the "Lunch Crew Manager". I have been promoted!!! Has it been a year already??
The Avon Breast Cancer 3 Day is a 3 day, 60 mile walk to fight breast cancer. Each walker must raise a minimum of $1800 to participate in the journey. Over $10 million dollars has been raised by the Avon Breast Cancer 3 Day walks in the past 3 years in an effort to once and for all, stop this disease.
I participate in this event in dedication to my mother and grandmother who are both breast cancer survivors. I will continue to participate in the event every year in hopes that we can find a cure so my sister and myself and our children (someday!) won't have to go through what the women in my family have had to endure.
