MASTER’s MESSAGE:

I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to the Members that attended the Eighteenth Masonic District Lodge Meeting held on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at Arthur M. Retif Lodge on Jefferson Highway.  We WON THE TRAVELING GAVEL with 13 present!  SPECIAL THANKS goes to Daniel Ledet, PM for the Limo Ride.  In all there were 65 people at the District meeting, which was one of the highest numbers present at a district meeting in a long time.  We had to bring chairs from the refreshment area to accommodate the overflow!  Please see coming events for detail on the Eighteenth Masonic District Picnic in October!  Hope to see you at the meetings.  y

At the 18th Masonic District Meeting of August 29th, the above Brothers

were nominated for their respective Grand Lodge Positions for the ensuing year of 2008!!

 RELIEF:

  • Bro. Bob Brewton of Livingston Lodge is doing very well and attending our meetings again.  Welcome Back!
  • MW Clayton J. Borne, III, PGM was doing well.  He may just have had fatigue, so the doctors say.
  • Britanie Vedros, Roy’s 19 year old daughter had been fighting cancer of the uterus, but doctors found no signs of cancer.  Everyone applauded this GREAT news and Roy thanked everyone for their prayers.
  • Rt. W. JP Allen, DDGM 19th was also doing well again.
  • Luke Catalanatto’s sister had test done and the doctors are of the opinion that she doesn’t need an angiogram at this time.  More GREAT news!
  • Luke’s wife is also doing well again and feeling fine.
  • Brothers, please remember the above-mentioned Members & family members in your prayers!

Secretary’s Message:

The same four Brothers each year have NOT paid their 2007 Dues by September!  Brethren, your dues are due at the first of the year, (January 1st) not the end of the year!  How do you expect us to run the Lodge and pay rent, per capita and other Lodge expenses, with some of the Brothers holding back until after September of each year?  Please remit your dues to IDEAL LODGE No. 367, 12108 Coles Creek Blvd., Hammond, LA 70403-2024.  Do not mail anything to the Lodge Hall.  Please send all mail to the Coles Creek address, or I might not receive it!  2007 Dues are still $45.50.  Please remember to add your optional 2¢ worth a day for an additional $7.30.  Please make check in the amount of $52.80

  • A summon had to be sent to the above four members, like every year.  This is a fight all year, to get these dues collected, which struggle should not be in our organization.  L  We all joined the Fraternity to help others, and yet we refuse to help our own Lodge with payment of their dues, which is very much needed.

  • No we will not close the Lodge due to these four, but I would not have to be wasting time and postage to struggle to get everyone up to date by the year’s end.  Every Secretary has the same problem each year.
