Jointly organized by the Younger Managers’ Club, the Management and Methods Club and IDEA 4 HK (城市智庫), a study tour to Shenzhen will be held on Saturday, 19 August 2006, in which we will visit Shenzhen South-China International Logistics Company Limited (深圳龍華物流園) and Yantian International Container Terminals Limited (鹽田港). Logistics is currently one of the three pillar industries in Shenzhen. Do come and join our study tour to explore the fast growing logistics industry in Shenzhen! Shenzhen South-China International Logistics Company Limited (SILC) The Shenzhen South-China International Logistics Company Limited (SILC) was founded in December 2000. Its owner is the Shenzhen South-China International Logistics Centre, which is one of the six major logistics districts in Shenzhen. SILC covers an area of 650,000 metres square with a total investment of ¥903 million. It offers comprehensive services, including international trade warehousing, cross-border trucking etc. SILC aims to play an important role in the logistics net made up of Shenzhen, Hong Kong and the regions around. Yantian International Container Terminals Limited (YICT) Yantian International Container Terminals Limited (YICT) is one of the leading container terminals in southern China. Jointly established by the Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH) Group and Shenzhen Yantian Port Group (YPG), YICT commenced operations in mid-1994. The Company is responsible for operating and managing Phase I, Phase II and Phase III of the Yantian Port. With HPH’s experience in port management, YICT has made investments in upgrading terminal facilities and computer management systems. Currently, all the world’s top 20 shipping companies such as Maersk Sealand, APL etc call at YICT.
