Submit request for nominations for awards to newsletter editor. Participate in board meetings and conference calls. Solicit nominations for awards. Send and collect data sheets of nominees. Obtain board member vote for candidates. Submit awards to ADA Order award plaques. Present awards at IDA Annual Business Meeting. |
| Jean Heinz Past President and Awards Chair 2001 Nominations for the following awards are currently being accepted. Help honor the Idaho Dietetic Association members and others who support the profession of dietetics and nutrition for the public by submitting your nominations. June Yerrington Award (IDA�s highest member honor): Criteria: An IDA member nominated by the membership. Member of IDA for 10 years. Member who has contributed to IDA in a significant way during his/her professional career, such as a board member or committee chairperson. Member who has made significant impact in his/her community and has earned respect from within the community. To submit a nomination for the June Yerrington Award send a letter identifying your nominee, and detailing support for honoring the nominee with the award. Nominations will be voted on by the IDA Board and it will be decided if the award will be presented to a deserving member. Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year (RYDY) Criteria: ADA member 35 years or younger as of March 1, 2001 Active in national, state, or district associations. Demonstrates concern for the promotion of optimal health and nutritional status of the population. Demonstrated leadership of some area dietetics, either in association activities or place of employment. To submit a nomination for RYDY Award send a letter identifying the nominee, and detail the support for honoring the nominee for the award. Outstanding Dietitian of the Year Award Criteria: IDA member Member who has contributed to IDA in a significant way during the past years, such as a board member or committee chairperson Active in national, state, and district associations Demonstrates concern for the promotion of optimal health and nutritional status of the population Demonstrated leadership of some area of dietetics, either in association activities or place of employment Gem Award Non member of IDA award Criteria To honor an individual, organization, or company. Not necessarily an annual award. Is given when nominations received by IDA are deemed worthy. Promotes and/or encourages good health habits with an emphasis on sound nutrition habits through efforts to educate the public. This can be done directly through individual, company or organization or through financial contributions. To submit a nomination for the GEM award, send a letter identifying your nominee detailing support for honoring the nominee for this award. Please also attach (3) letters of support from IDA members.
