Canadian teen pop sensations The Moffatts have
approached Foo Fighter Dave Grohl about working together on the
group's next album, the band revealed during an online chat with AllPop.
In response to a question from "Ben" about whether the
band had ever met up with the lead Foo Fighter, Clint Moffatt
said the group had bumped into Grohl -- who was in Toronto to
catch The Smashing Pumpkins' show -- after The Moffatts had
finished hosting the Juno Awards last Sunday.
"We ran into him at an after-party, we took a couple of
photos, (and said) we'd love to do something with you, maybe work
together," Clint replied.
"His manager is going to talk to our manager, so hopefully
it'll work out. It was a brief discussion, but it was cool just
to meet up with him," Clint said.
"(Grohl) is really funny.
"(The next record) is definitely gonna be more of a rock
sound. When we did "Chapter 1," it was an album we did
for the producers and record company and the fans liked it. But I
think the new one, we're not making it for anybody except
ourselves and our fans.
"It's just gonna be something we're gonna be proud of, and
we'll just (do) our thing and hopefully it'll come out cool."
Added Dave Moffatt: "We can't really say what kind of music
(the next album will be) ... it's gonna be Moffatts music. Not
pop or rock, it going to be our music and we do it for us and our
fans. You never know till you get into the studio. We're trying
to get a Moffatts sound that'll be on all the albums. We want a
sound that's identifiable, something that you can tell it's The
Moffatts.
