The Regan Report!
I-Slam 2002: I chose to start here because this is ICW's biggest even of the year. And because the 2 that headlines this very show are two men who are still around today and are still as famous as ever. I dont remember much of this Pay Per View however I do remeber both Payne and Charisma putting on one hell of a show in the main event. This is where the reign of John Calvin Payne began. This also happens to be where Team Toxic made their return and their mark on society. Ahh the good old days... I loved those guys... Ride or Die: Greatness at its best. This was possibly the greatest spectacle I had ever seen. With not a single time wasting match in sight this was the PPV to look foward to. And it didn't dissapoint, ICW's last PPV of 2002 saw ICW's most underatted loudmouth: Lee Stone capture the US title, It saw Aerial Prodigy and Ghost take their near-career-ending fued to new heights and we saw Rik Kendell and John Calvin Payne tear up the ring in a fuelled by anger match that almost ended both mens careers. December: The Christmas month saw James Clash ressurect the Dark Army in an attempt to rid "his" ICW of Rik Kendell. Unfortunately to his surprise Rik and found himself some allies in the Perfect Stable led by Hellhole and Justin Sane. Zero Hour 2003: Late 2002 saw US Champ Lee Stone vacating the title due to contractual issues. This left that spot open for number 1 contender Mr. E Opponent of the Perfect Stable to take hold. This didnt sit well with the rule abiding shadow and so a tournament was put in place. The best in the business were put into brackets and ultimately led to this Pay Per View. In what was a match of epic greatness, tournament underdog Scurge Runik toppled former Triple Champion Mr. Charisma to win the vacated belt. Also at this Show, Aerial Prodigy lost his mask to Ghost, Rik Kendell finally got one over good ole Jimmy C and John Calvin Payne defeated Shawn Temp to keep his World Heavyweight Title. Between PPV's: This period was eventful for ICW. Lee Stone's return at Zero Hour and a backstage match signing caused a 4-way match for the US title in which Firestorm, Sabbath and Lee all got a shot at Runik. Luckily for him, the time limit expired only seconds before Firestorm could get the pinfall. Although a rematch was scheduled I cant actually remember if it ended up taking place. Also, with the reign on JCP finnally ending in controversial fashion one week after Zero Hour, the title changed hands not once, not twice but THREE times in the span of a month. JCP lost to Shawn Temp merely a week after Zero Hour, then a week after that Temp dropped the title to Charisma giving him his second World Title reign. He then dropped the title to under-achiever The Sabbath who's only wins over past months were against Charisma and resulted in a BFTG 2003 main event featuring Firestorm versus Sabbath for the gold. Finally much to Clash's dismay, big man Hellhole conquered ally Runik in a title vs. title match to unite the US title and TV title. Battle for the Gold 2003: With fan favourite Runik going after the Junior Heavyweight title, the main event scene consisted of an expected change of hands of the world title and the two biggest men in ICW finally stepping in the ring against each other in what I would say was one of the best matches of the night. It was a hard match for the main event to follow with big crowd pullers Hellhole and Darkwolf clashing heads after months of rivalry between factions. In a cage of all places! Hellhole won but that match and several others on the card overshadowed the main event which featured Firestorm breaking out of the tag scene and taking the World Title off of excuse-for-a-champ Sabbath. April: Between BFTG and KOTC II ICW was shocked as heated enemies James Clash(disputed US Champ after stealing it from Hellhole) and Mr. Charisma joined forces to become the C & C Wrestling Factory. With Rik Kendell, Justin Sane and Luscious Larry long gone from ICW the world was wondering who would front up against this force of egos. It takes a little more than a big ego to conquer another ego and thats exactly what happened when Perfect Stable leader Hellhole joined forces with Rising Star Scurge Runik in a battle of wits for ultimate dominance. KOTC II: After a couple of months of fueding, things came to a halt as the first ever tag-team match for a singles title took place. Also the quarter finals of the KOTC II tournament and ultimately the finals took place where out of nowhere Lee Stone made his big return after capturing the World Title and KOTC 2003 crown disguised as Mortal Kombat Man. Between PPV's: This is basically where things began to go downhill. A top ICW staffer was fired from his position due to Clash listening to the people and from then on it was all about the power plays. Lee Stone had to "earn" his belt by defending it almost every week in one month and to top it all off, ICW's hero Scurge Runik joined the C & C Wrestling Factory! With the scales tipped firmly on the side of evil, all was doomed to fail. Revenge 2003: With the odds possibly evening as James Clash's ex wife Roxanne enters the fray commanding the dominant "4th Reich". Things looked to be lightening up however nonsensual booking and a last minute change of the card caused upset everywhere. Until next time, Take care... Regan Cronin.
