Information
Thousands of years ago, there was a tome, a powerful book full of magic and secrets.  It was first created in India where it was safeguarded in a secluded area.  However, a spy managed to steal the tome where it was then sold to the highest bidder in Babylon.  When Persia began to conquer Mesopotamia, the tome was brought to the land of Israel.  There it stayed concealed until the Romans conquered and governed the land.  The Tome was then brought to Egypt where it remained hidden from all eyes.

Just a few decades ago, a lowly thief stumbled upon the tomb in which the artifact was hidden.   Curious, he opened the book to find out that it was written in Sanscript, a language that he knew well.  Slowly, he read the writing out loud, gaining an immense amount of power.  He used this power to steal at first but as he read further into the book, he realized that he could conquer the world.  He summoned the armies of hell first along with their generals.  When the generals told him that they wouldnt do anything with their armies until their master was summoned as well, the thief read the last part of the tome:

Out from the darkness
Out from the fires of hell
Awake great one
From the ashes below.

Bring your anger, pain, and sorrow.
Bring your sins, hatred, and destruction.
Bring the one thing that resides in man:
DARKNESS!

Come, come, come!
You are the leader!
You are Evil.
You are the Destroyer of the Faith!

By saying those twelve lines, the thief sealed his own fate.  No one knows exactly what happened but it is said that from the castle in which the thief resided in, a deafening scream echoed for miles.  At around the same time, the armies of hell were let loose.  They swept the world, killing all in its path.  Cities that held off hundreds of thousands of soldiers fell in a few minutes to millions of demons.  Humans fled, seeking shelter in churches, synagogues, and other places of worship.  Many more fled to the mountains and trees where they took themselves up as bandits, robbing anyone, even those that fled the massive and seemingly endless armies.

It is 1235, just when it seemed that the apocalypse had come, a shed of faith pierced through the ever-darkening despair.  A small band of humans have banded together to find the one thing that could bring humanity back up on its feet.  You are one of those humans whose soul objective is to free humanity by finding the one thing that could stop the demon that commands them all, The Lost Tome.
As you probably can tell from the above, the Lost Tome isn't a game nor a story.  It is a roleplay thread that has recieved overwhelming embracement that makes even it's creator cry (only once!).  And with a legacy that is estimated to be long lasting, the roleplay forum at Imperial Conflict will be remembered as one of the greatest of roleplays (hopefully).
