Well Ice was born at 10:30pm on the 24th of Aug 1997, it was -10 degrees celsius that's how he got his name, because he wasn't born Grey.. he was born Chestnut (brown). Ice was gelded (desexed) when he was about 2 years old, broken in (so you can ride him) when he was 2 1/2 years old.
Ice has been shown 7 times... he has got one 1st, three 3rds and two 4ths.. only missed out on a ribbon at one show. He has had two operations, one on his backleg to get a bone splinter out, and the other one to pull a tooth out he knocked when he was younger which the Vet cut back, causing it to get infected. So we had to remove it losing the tooth growing underneath as well because it was growing up under his tongue.
I take Ice on Trail Rides once a month up in the mountains all year round apart from December and January. We go with a group of people, have a couple of campouts a year, winter time and spring. Rides can be anywhere from 20km to 34km.
Ice's Mother Leona Lee was put down on the 12/12/2000 after a long illness. Ice's sister Roxy was only 8 weeks old. Go to the poems page to see a poem for Leona.
