"Among the wives of the Holy Prophet (saw), Hazrat Zainab Bint Jahash (ra) was the most generous lady. She was an expert in processing and tempering skins into fine leather. With her art she was able to earn handsome money which she liberally gave away to the needy and the wretched. One day the Holy Prophet (saw) said: "Among you (my wives), whoever has the longest hand, she will join me (after my death) sooner than others. The wives of the Holy Prophet (saw) kept measuring the length of their arms. Hazrat Zainab had the shortest arm among them all. When she died, she was the first wife of the Holy Prophet (saw) to die and all the rest came to understand that by long hand, the measure of generosity was intended."
