******* Me, blah blah *******

I thought I'd start this text with a note to any user who wonders about the differences in how I outfitted my AI to player flyable conversions. You'll notice some of the ships can be outfitted with different weapons while others have only one specific loadout.

Originally I aspired to give the user the exact ship the AI was using, but since this IS in the future of IWar 1 ...

(And well, some of the required mountpoints allow a bunch of missiles)

... I *sagely--^* decided, "Hey, they've probably souped up some of these suckers in the last 150 years!". This makes sense for the larger ships, but the smaller ships I made to spec since they would possibly have severe space limitations (a fighter doesn't have the space for 40 missiles) but on the larger ships I decided to be a littel more lax.

For those who WANT their ship to be "correct" I often include the "canon" spec in the text file I included in every ship folder. This lets you know how to outfit your ship in the loadout screen.

******* INSTALLATION *******

First, if you didn't unzip the resourcefolder.zip using folder names you need to erase these files and try again, using foder names. If you know what your doing do whatever you want, but make sure you read the READMEFIRST.txt file. ;)

If you have NOT unpacked your resource.zip file GOOD, just copy the whole "resourcefolder" folder into your IWar2 directory and all of the files will be in their proper place.

If you did unzip my package correctly just copy the resource folder to your IWar2 main directory. Easy peas-y... :)

I'm assuming you have all the files required either because if it ain't in the folder it will use the resource.zip installed by the IWar2 installer or all of the files it need were put in the resource folder after you unzipped the resource.zip file. One can only hope. :P

If you haven't unzipped the iwar2 resource.zip this is also good because the game will use the folders first, then the zip. You also have the additional benefit of simply deleting the resource FOLDER and the game will be as it was before you installed the files provided. Usually these are the only files needed. Extra files are included in the proper folder deep in the resource folder.

If you've unpacked your resource.zip file make sure you back up these files so you can go back to your original setup. (If you unpack the resource.zip I hope you moved or renamed it, that way you don't need to reinstall unless something really bad happens by (again) deleting the resource folder and renaming your renamed resource.zip file or moving it back to your main IWar2 folder. :)

Anytime you use these files you want to copy the comsec.ini and .lws files (if there is one) from its own folder in \resource\sims\ships\player\*shipname* to your \resource\sims\ships\player\ directory.

Someday someone might make a .bat file to let you choose the desired ship from a menu, but I'd rather be playing IWar2.

	The easiest way is to:

1: Make a new folder somewhere convenient
2: Copy just the ship folders to the new folder you just made in step 1
3: Create a shortcut to the \resource\sims\ships\player\ folder
4: Put the shortcut in the folder from step 1
5: Use the shortcut to COPY (don't "move") the ship files to the shortcut.

	The other way is to:

1: Make a shortcut to the ships\player folder on your desktop
2: Open the shortcut
3: Find the files you want to use by entering its corresponding folder
4: COPY (Do not "move" them) any comsec.* files
5: Use the "up" to parent folder button until you get to the ship folder
6: Paste 'em there, this will obviously overwrite any other file there.

This SHOULD be only one folder up in the tree.

Some of the ships require other files I made from scratch, if you've properly moved the "resource" folder to your main IWar2 directory they should be in their correct place.

******* More me, blah blah (and cool tidbits) *******

If you want to ignore the speed limit around stations and L-Points add this line to the end of the .ini file of any ship you use:

ignore_speed_limit=1

Remember that just because you're FLYING a Police PatCom or fighter doesn't mean the AI will think it's funny and not pound you into your base molecules. Same for the Navy, they have even less of a sense of humor. And if you ARE flying a big nasty capital ship staying in the speed limit is recommended, it takes many kilometers to stop or even turn in a huge cruiser. If you hit a base, guess what, they have the LEAST sense of humor in the whole game. (You'll likely die if you hit with any speed.)

I also included the following text in each comsec.ini hoping to maybe get fan mail, real estate, gifts of cash or something:

; Ya can do what ya like to these files, just make sure if you pass them
; along you leave this text in the file. I worked long and hard (ya right)
; making these changes, usually forgoing food or drink, and sometimes the
; bathroom. Not like it's from dedication, I just love playing this game.
